Matt Morris

Matt Morris a sustainable development professional and economist with 20 years of experience: currently an independent advisor, an Honorary Associate Professor at the ANU and a board member of the Pacific Institute of Public Policy.

Over the last 20 years, Matt has provided economic advice for the Australian, Papua New Guinea and UK governments in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He has unique skills in strategy, leadership, communication and influencing.

Notable achievements include: structural reforms in PNG (2002), $30 billion debt deal for Nigeria (2005), supporting reforms to Australian aid (2008), setting up a development policy think tank (2010), and restructuring two large corporations (2011-14).

Matt contributes blogs to virtualeconomics.com, devpolicy.org and pacificpolicy.org.

He has a Masters degree in Development Economics from the University of Sussex, and started his career as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK.
